What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Browsers send cookies back to the site on subsequent visits, which lets the site remember things — what page you visited, whether you're logged in, and so on. We don't use cookies for logins because we don't have user accounts.
Cookies we set
- _ga, _ga_BVW5VPCWJX — set by Google Analytics 4. Used to distinguish unique visitors and measure usage. Expire after two years. Stored under
googletagmanager.com/ your-current-domain.
Cookies we don't set
- Advertising cookies— we don't run third-party ads on this site today. If that changes (we are considering display ads on the blog/comparison pages in the future), we will update this page and add a consent banner.
- Plausible Analytics — sets no cookies at all. It counts visits using server-side aggregation.
How to opt out
- Block GA only — install Google's opt-out browser add-on.
- Block all third-party scripts— use a content blocker like uBlock Origin. The site continues to work normally; the QR / barcode generators don't depend on analytics.
- Delete existing cookies — clear cookies for this domain in your browser settings.
